PICTURE STORIES: SENIORS OF THE FREEPORT RECREATION CENTER

This is a self assignment I did on the Senior Citizens of the Freeport Recreation Center in Freeport New York. These people are mostly in their 80's and 90's and migrate to this place at least 2-3 times a week. They all told me that being able to stay active in this Rec Center has helped extend their lives 5-10 years. I spent the better part of 4 months going back and fourth photographing them and getting know them. They all have a story to tell. It was a great feeling not having to fight so hard for access and deal with PR people, agents, leagues and other roadblocks in order to get the photos I wanted to do. It was a good photo exercise for me, and really enjoyed taking these pictures.
